This Sunday I will be doing a dramatic reading of my short story, “The Wood and the Viper,” at Brookdale Covenant at 9:30AM to wrap up our series in the Book of Acts.
In “The Wood and the Viper,” I retell the biblical account of the apostle Paul’s shipwreck on the way to Rome as recorded in Acts 27. Trapped aboard a grain freighter during a violent storm, Paul acts as a spiritual leader to his fellow prisoners and crewmates by sharing Hebrew stories and messages of faith. He draws parallels between their perilous voyage and classic tales like Noah’s ark and Jonah, ultimately pointing them toward the saving power of Jesus Christ. Through these dramatic events, the narrative illustrates how faith and clinging to the wood of the cross can rescue humanity from the chaotic storms of life and the deadly bite of sin.
This story is part of my Untold Tales series you can find in my bookstore.

Join us Sunday at 9:30AM at Brookdale Covenant Church in Brooklyn Center, MN.
