New Website Theme – Thoughts?

I’m sorry.  I can’t help it. I like to tweak, improve, create and change things around. In college I was constantly rearranging our 15 x 25 foot dorm room every other week.  My roommate was confused and humored to say the least.

Unfortunately, Keri and I bought a house that isn’t much larger than that old dorm room, and there only one good way to arrange the furniture.  So, I’ve transferred this energy to rearranging other spaces in my life — namely this website.

One of my obsessions is creating new blog headers and trying new blog themes/templates to give Daily Illumination a fresh look. If this was a professional website for a business or organization, I’d lose business and upset clients.  For people do not like change. They like things to be familiar and predictable.

But familiarity and predictability are not values I cherish.  These are values our fallen nature — frail and insecure — craves. That part of us that is captivated by a Kingdom-mentality desires the fresh, the new, the transformed and changed. The life of faith calls for an appreciation — or at least toleration — of the strange, peculiar andunpredictable. Spiritual formation is nothing if not constant ‘adjustment.’

So, again, I’m sorry if you stop by some days and things look different. I like change. I like fresh. I like creating.  =D

But I also aim to please and impress. So, if you would give me some feedback on the new look I will take it into consideration as I continue to experiment. Currently, I only have my wife, Keri’s, opinion to consider.

Please comment and offer feedback on the new look.  Thoughts?  Complaints? Confusion?

Thanks!

  1. ah, JBerg…some things do not change…like your penchant for changing things! So, change your website all you want…but do not change your attitude toward the Kingdom, the Revolution, Jesus! I will keep reading your stuff and enjoying the challenges as long as you stay focused on the words of the Word…”Behold, I make all things new!”

    1. Ahh, that’s David’s way of saying, “I couldn’t give a hoot about your web design.” He’s too single-mindedly focused on moving the Kingdom of Jesus forward! That’s what I love about him! Thanks, David.
