We human beings tend by some law of nature toward extremes — especially in religion and politics.  It’s hard to remain open to both sides and hold to a centrist position in the political shouting match played out in American media outlets.

I have made balance and rigorous engagement with both — or, better, “all” — sides a core value of mine.  Thus, those who tend to jump to either extremes, oversimplify the issues and misrepresent the opposing side really test my patience — and I think I’m a pretty patient guy.
