Mound Prayer Vigil for CO Victims

Mound graduate, Anthony Faulk, along with friends and family organized a prayer vigil for the Colorado shooting victims. I was alerted to the event and was able to attend. Fox 9 News and Kare 11 News showed up to cover the event. Fox reported:

A candlelight memorial service honoring the victims of the Aurora, Colo., movie theater shooting is set to place in Mound, Minn., on Monday night, but the organizers are hoping attendees can help them out.

The gathering is set to start at 9 p.m. and will last through midnight at Surfside Beach.

Organizers asked any attendees who play music to bring instruments along.

Anthony Faulk, the event organizer, said he goes to a lot of midnight screenings and said he could relate to the excitement the moviegoers had felt before the gunfire rang out.

“I go to a lot of premiers. I’m a huge geek when it comes out to this stuff. That’s me. You know, I may not be related to those people, but they’re me,” he said.

After watching the tragedy unfold from his couch, Faulk told FOX 9 News he wanted to do something about it and share prayers.

“There are good people out here,” he said.
