Easter Service 2021

I was just revisiting the video services we put together the last two years, and I wanted to share them again for anyone who didn’t see them and may be interested. We don’t have a megachurch budget and media team; just a crazy pastor with an iPhone wandering around preaching in golf courses and cemeteries (see “Who Will Roll the Stone” from 2020 below).

I was proud of our unique theme last year: “Easter in the Belly of the Whale.” I even put together a Good Friday meditative audio experience you can check out here. In the Easter service, our goofy friend Graham acts out Jonah in the Whale for the Scripture reading, our kids are adorably cute describing the experience of being in a big, stinky, cramped fish belly, and Jonnie G and I bring some raw but spirited Easter worship songs.

I’m dang proud of the way we continue to worship and celebrate and gather and be church in these very unconventional times. I’m at it again, putting together a little video service for the church that will be gathered in our living room on Sunday this year, while I will be leading a service at Harrison Bay Senior Home.

Anyways…below are our last two years of creative and innovative Easter celebrations. In 2020, in the gloom and shock of the early days of the pandemic, I brought a more somber but hopeful message from a cemetery.

May God bless you this Easter wherever and however you celebrate and worship!
