One of my favorite things about MainStreet Covenant, the church I am privileged to pastor, is their willingness to try new things and experiment together. The next two Sundays (7/21 & 7/28) are a case in point.
In place of our regular Sunday service, we will be meeting at 5pm “on the trail” for a couple all-church Jesus Walks together. The past two summers I have been taking a handful of students on Friday morning Jesus Walks where we let nature amplify Jesus’ teachings and learn to hear God’s gentle whisper in the morning breeze. We discuss worry among the birds and wildflowers. We ponder being God’s masterpiece walking in a sculpture garden. We contemplate God’s tender care among the grazing sheep. In short, we teach about the Kingdom in the very same way Jesus did.

SUNDAY, JULY 21 5:00-6:30 PM: GALE WOODS FARM
Meet behind the Wedding Pavilion on the left when you drive in. Bring bug spray and walking shoes. We won’t be walking very far. We will be arranging a separate activity and walk for the Kids. DIRECTIONS
SUNDAY, JULY 28 5:00-6:30 PM: BIG STONE SCULPTURE GARDEN
Meet by the entrance in parking lot. This is the same place as the mini-golf, though we will be walking in the sculpture gardens beyond it. We have a fun scavenger hunt prepared for the kids. Bring bug spray. Consider bringing extra cash and playing some mini-golf afterwards. DIRECTIONS
