This week I had the privilege of sharing the gospel with Westonka students at the Fellowship of Christian Athletes gathering. I spoke on the parable of the Hidden Treasure, and urged them to treasure Jesus above all else.
I also reminded them that each of them are the treasure Jesus was willing to “sell everything” to purchase, costing him his very life. In response to such great love, I urged them to be like the “crazy sweeper” in Luke 15 who turns the house upside down in search of one lost coin — a coin that many might see as unimportant and dispensable.
The school hallways are full of “lost souls” who don’t know they are of infinite value in God’s eyes, and these students get to go searching for those whom the world overlooks and give them the good news that they are treasured by the Creator and of infinite worth.
And then Krispy Kreme donuts were consumed on the softball field together.
Regular readers and subscribers know that I am uniquely blessed by our small church of 25 people to be a “pastor-on-mission” between Sundays, sent out as a Kingdom Ambassador to share Jesus and the hope of the gospel in senior homes, college classrooms, pubs on a Friday night, and more. My writings, videos, music, sermons, articles and speaking are all made possible by faithful donors who enable me to pursue these ministries full time.
